What is Google's LBR and why are they implementing it? |

Answer:
Google has recently launched a service called LBR or Local Business Referrals So you set up this LBR account and you go to local businesses and start snapping off photos and writing descriptions of their service or product offerings. You submit the photos and descriptions to Google and they pay you $2. Seems like a pretty bad deal now seeing that gas prices are more than $2 per gallon. If the local business approves the photos and description Google will pay you an additional $8. So in all, Google will be out a total of $10 while gaining an extremely valuable asset. I don't believe Google gives a crap if the local business approves the content. Their goal is to get their name in front of more local businesses. They want to pitch their AdWords and other products. So even if the local business approves the submission Google is out $10 and can potentially make hundreds if not thousdands per referral. Doesn't seem very fair to me. They only promise to pay out $2 yet they stand to gain a ton from each submission you make. I'd like to believe that they will use the photos and descriptions in conjunction with Google Earth to create a realistic virtual store front of the world but the way I read the project plans it seems to be a savvy marketing trick to get local businesses to advertise on Google.
