ISO 9001 is the internationally
recognized standard
which is meant for recognizing an institution for assuring or delivering the high quality products in terms of design, development, production, installation and services to customers. ISO certification means a symbol for the world-class products and services to the customers. 


The implementation of ISO 9001 demonstrates the existence of an effective quality management system in an organization which will provide a means of motivation to the employees which in turn results in an improved efficiency and productivity of the company. This will also enhance company image in front of customers, employees and shareholders and promoters. It will also result in work on time, reduced cost of production, less wastage, fewer complaints and customer satisfaction which will than open up new opportunities in this competitive market.

For obtaining the ISO 9001 certificate, a company is suppose to check whether all the requirements of the ISO 9001 are applicable. If it applies to companies working procedures and policies than the company has to apply for an external audit which must be accredited certification body which will than review all the companies quality manuals and procedures in detail. If it is satisfied than an ISO 9001 certificate is issued to the company.
These auditing bodies are also supposed to check all these procedures for maintaining quality in the company at least once a year.
