What is SWOT?

Answer:
SWOT analysis is a planning tool used by organizations
and businesses to establish a clearly defined objective.  SWOT consists of four areas: strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.

Strengths include characteristics and attributes within the business that are essential to the success of a project.  Examples of strengths in SWOT analysis are factors like good manufacturing facilities, and experienced management personnel.

Weaknesses include internal factors that might prevent success of a project.  Examples of weaknesses in a SWOT analysis are factors such as lack of funding and inadequate training of personnel.

Opportunities are external factors that can help achieve the project's goals.  Opportunities in a SWOT analysis could be positive market conditions or brand recognition.

Threats, the final area in SWOT analysis, includes factors outside the business or organization that could threaten the project's success.  Some possible threats includes negative market conditions or a lack of raw materials.
