founded in 1987 by David Duffield and Ken Morris.

Peoplesoft created management software for human resources and customer service personnel. The company provided software solutions to schools and goverment offices until its acquisition by Oracle in 2005. Oracle then proceeded to license and distribute the Peoplesoft name and products.

In 2003, Peoplesoft merged with rival JD Edwards and acquired personnel management software for mid-size companies that were too small for Peoplesoft's software.
