What is Microsoft?

Answer:
Microsoft is a large corporation with a global market base that develops all kinds of products for computing devices.

Microsoft was founded in 1975 by Bill Gates

and Paul Allen. Microsoft originally created BASIC interpreters for the Altair 8800 then expanded into the home user market with MS-DOS or Microsoft Disk Operating System in the 1980's. Windows operating system followed DOS and achieved near total dominance in the computer market.

Microsoft has adopted monopolistic business policies and as a result has been subject to criticism and punishment by governments for its refusal to make deals and allow its software to be used by the competition.

Microsoft makes the X-Box, X-Box 360, Zune mp3 player, and various computer peripherals and home entertainment products.
