What is Commerce?

Answer:
Commerce refers to the widespread activity between businesses, governments, organizations and individuals of buying and selling services and products.
In other words, commerce is simply business or trade.
Commerce can occur within a certain geographic area, like a single neighborhood, or in the context of a much greater sphere, like in the example of international commerce.

Cities, ethnic groups, industry groups and other organizations often form Chambers of Commerce to help facilitate networking among its members and promote business between them.  The United States formed the Department of Commerce in the early 1900s to help promote the advancement of the United States economy and technological development.
