What is Cold Calling? |
|
Answer:
Cold calling is a form of telemarketing that The telemarketers or sales associates usually begin with a brief introduction, and then quickly begin explaining the benefits of the particular product or service being marketed. Calls should be kept brief and to the point. The most important thing to think about when cold calling is to always get past the gate keeper and to the decision maker. The gate keeper is the receptionist or secretary. You may need to schmooze or create some small talk with the gate keeper but again, don't spend too much time. Often times cold callers spend too much time schmoozing the gate keeper and still end up losing the connection to the decision maker. Once you get to the decision maker be their friend. Know that your product or service will benefit them. If you don't believe in what your selling then you won't be able to sell it. One of the major problems with cold calling is that people often do not appreciate what they see as an invasion of their privacy. Many prospects will simply hang up, and some verbally abuse the cold callers. Telemarketers need to be able to just move on quickly, don't beat yourself up if someone verbally abuses you. Always be nice, be nice even when the other caller is verbally abusing you and remember it's just business! Don't take anything personal! Trackback(0)
